I am a Santa Fe-based journalist, currently staffed at The Santa Fe New Mexican as a general assignment and digital enterprise reporter. In my two-plus years at The New Mexican, I’ve reported on a wide array of issues, with interest in bringing awareness to social injustices and efforts made to serve the state’s most vulnerable communities. In addition to writing for the paper, I help with daily photo assignments, am the sole editor for the teen section Generation Next and operate as the paper’s go-to social media manager. I also co-founded the newly launched Adventure section.
Before joining the paper, I worked at Outside magazine for a short stint as an editorial producer, in which I composed daily newsletters and formatted stories and photos for online.
Prior to moving to the Land of Enchantment, I freelanced for various publications in Chattanooga, Tenn. My work was featured in the Chattanooga Times Free Press, Southern Living’s online blog and Roots Rated. This was after returning from a four-month internship in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where I mainly focused on arts- and culture-related stories for The Cambodia Daily.
I am a graduate of Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, where I earned dual majors in journalism and photojournalism, with a specialization in international studies. With well-rounded experiences and a diverse skillset, my hope is to build authentic relationships with people and the world around me in order to tell meaningful stories with impactful imagery.
